Life is Beautiful

This morning Kate and I walked across the school parking lot, which was covered in pine needles. Kate pointed at them and said, "Look at all the pork chops!"
Yesterday Evan informed us that now that he has had six birthdays, one-two-three-four-five-six, he is ready for us to buy him a dog. Clearly, Mother and Father, it is time for you to take the next step in the process.

After the soccer game, we decided to go car camping. Tracie and the kids are roasting hot dogs over the campfire. Nothing tastes better!

Evan had a great time playing in his first soccer game--he is #5 in the black uniform, right in the middle of the pack. We didn't win, but we had fun!

The Huckleberry Hounds, Kate and Evan, spent their holiday picking huckleberries on the Thomas Lake trail in the Indian Heaven Wilderness near Carson, WA. Kate and Evan spent most of their time eating the berries and ended the day with an empty bucket!

Cabin Weekend 2007

We had a great time at the cabin! The lake was nice, the beer was cold, and the company was hilarious.



Evan and Kate swam like a frog and a fish - we were so proud of them!

Most of all, we had fun with our family! Thanks Gramma Sherri, Grampa Tom, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Chris, Uncle Kyle, Cousin Reagan, and Cousin Nolan! --and Great Gramma Fran!!

Turk Visits!

Yes, it has been 16 years since we were all together...seems hard to believe. Turk came and we visited Jerry and Tom this weekend. We went to see Jerry and his family, and then it was off to see Tom on the boat! Some things have changed, but mostly the same dumb jokes stand the test of time, like true friends. What a time, we had.


And what good fortune we share - still able to connect after all these years. My friend, Turk, you're the best!

After hearing some excitement after an extended period of silence, dad went upstairs to find Evan and Kate, covered from head to toe in colors from their marking pens. When dad asked, "What did you two do?!" The reply from Evan was, "We went swimming in a rainbow!"
